Week Two!

Last weekend we wanted to go to the beach but had to postpone due to the fact that it was raining.  So what does a family do when they can’t go to the beach… they go to the NASA museum of course.  It was actually a lot of fun.  Rylee wants to be an astronaut when she grows up.  Ryan is so proud.

I LOVE NASA!

We also finally had a sunny day and were able to make it to the beach!  Rylee loved the warm Gulf water.  Ryan and I had to team up to make sure that Rylee didn’t succeed in eating any of the sand she so desperately wanted.  Despite our best efforts I am pretty sure Rylee ate a little bit of sand… not because she succeeded in tricking us into letting her put the huge handfuls of sand in her mouth but because her momma had to get as many pictures as she could of Rylee sitting for her first time on the beach.
At first it was going great then Rylee face planted it in the sand.  She didn’t seem to mind too much.

                                                   Strike a pose

       She is starting to fall...

This picture doesn't do it justice, but Rylee has sand all over her.

Hey, Dad... What's up?

This past week Rylee and I have been trying to get out of the hotel a little bit more and explore Biloxi.  We now know where the essential things are like Target and have even found a park on base that we LOVE!  Rylee is a fan of the swing.  I am just not a fan of the bugs at the park… so I bought some fancy hot pink bug bands to take on our outdoor adventures.  We will see if they actually work.

Speaking of things that work, baking cookies on a pizza pan is actually very successful.  I didn’t want to buy more cookie sheets because we already have several of those on their way from Vegas.  We didn’t have a pizza pan though, so I bought one and that doubled as my cookie sheet.

This weekend Ryan saw Batman and so Rylee and I had a mommy and baby date on the beach.  It was a lot of fun!  Ignore Rylee’s look of disinterest in the picture.  She had fun too.

And one last picture from this morning as we got ready for church.  Rylee just always makes me laugh.

We love and miss all you guys!  Hope you all have a great week!

M.I.S.S.I.S.S.I.P.P.I.

We made it!!!!!  We are here is Mississippi!  Biloxi is really pretty and really rainy.  So far we have not been able to do a lot of exploring due to the mounds of paper work we need to get done, but I hope that we can do a little bit of site seeing this weekend if the weather permits.

I was going to write about Rylee and me making our first trip to a Wal-Mart in Mississippi and how we left soaked because Rylee's brillant momma forgot about the fact that it rains a lot here.

Or about the time I took Beezus (the dog) out to go potty and came back with FIVE mosquito bites on my leg.

Or maybe even the mysterious story of how Rylee now sleeps and naps better than she ever has and barely fights it. (I LOVE this by the way)

But seeing how I have tried to write this post for 3 days now I figure I will just cut to the chase and add pictures, then work on storytelling later.  Everyone just really wants to see pictures anyways.
